- THE TRAGEDY OF MACBETH
-
- Act 5 Scene 8
-
- (Alarums. Enter Macduff)
- l1l Macduff That way the noise is. Tyrant, show thy face!
- l2l If thou beest slain and with no stroke of mine,
- l3l My wife and childrenÆs ghosts will haunt me still.
- l4l I cannot strike at wretched kerns, whose arms
- l5l Are hired to bear their staves. Either thou, Macbeth,
- l6l Or else my sword with an unbattered edge
- l7l I sheathe again undeeded. There thou shouldst be;
- l8l By this great clatter one of greatest note
- l9l Seems bruited. Let me find him, fortune,
- l10l And more I beg not.
- (Exit. Alarums)
